Heat Transfer Fluids

At CHEM Group, we haven’t figured out how to prevent heat transfer fluids from degrading, but we have figured out how to make it less costly!

Over time, all heat transfer fluids degrade.  In the early stages of degradation, fluid viscosity rises, heat transfer efficiency declines, fluids darken, and odor intensifies.  Even in the best circumstances this results in lower overall system efficiency and higher energy costs.

In more advanced states of fluid degradation, fluid viscosity rises more sharply and thick tars or residues build up in system vessels and piping.  Once this occurs, system efficiency drops off more rapidly as pumps work harder, and residues foul heat transfer surfaces. Left unchecked, this can ultimately lead to complete system failure, costly repairs, and the need for fluid replacement.

Through CHEM Group’s “Clear Value Reclaim & Return Program” customers send us their degraded heat transfer fluids. We remove those contaminants responsible for degraded performance and then return what’s left.  Fluids reclaimed in this way perform as new, dramatically extending fluid use-life, and saving up to 75% over the cost or virgin replacement fluid.

For those interested in purchasing reclaimed heat transfer fluids, but who currently have none to recycle, we offer a wide range of commercially available heat transfer fluids that have already been reclaimed, are delivered from inventory, and typically cost about 30% less than virgin alternatives.

If you have degraded heat transfer fluids, but don’t need replacement fluid or prefer not to use reclaimed materials, we offer a variety of virgin heat transfer fluids and will generally purchase your degraded fluid to help offset the cost of your new fluid purchase.
